Sunken Meadow State Park is a 3.5 square mile state park located in the town of Smithtown in Suffolk County on the north shore of Long Island. It is open year-round, from sunrise to sunset, and welcomes millions of visitors each year.

Sunken Meadow offers a comprehensive program with a wide range of activities. During your stay, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the long boardwalk. The well-developed paths are ideal for walking. For the more athletic, there is the Cardiac Hill cross-country race, considered to be one of the toughest in the US. There are also facilities for cycling and horse riding.
The calm waters of the Strait are ideal for family swimming. But if you’re looking for a thrill, water sports like windsurfing and stand-up paddling are popular.
The park also offers playgrounds, softball fields and soccer fields. Sunken Meadow State Park’s golf course is ideal for the intermediate golfer. Nestled in a hilly area, surrounded by mature forests, it features 27 holes. Near the course, a bar and restaurant are available and open to the public.

Sunken Meadow State Park is located in the middle of Long Island, and the only way to get there is by car.

A maximum of two pets is permitted in campsites and day-use areas, unless prohibited by sign or directive.
Pets must be supervised at all times and kept in a cage or on a leash with a maximum length of 1m80. Proof of rabies inoculation must be produced upon request by staff.
Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, buildings, golf courses, boardwalks, swimming pools and spraygrounds or guarded beaches.
