Introduction to the hotel
The Arlo Midtown is a true centre of attraction in the heart of the theatre district. Offering privileged access to the excitement and dazzling lights of the city, it invites its visitors to meet for dinner, share a drink at the bar, refresh with ease and prepare for a new day full of discoveries.
Context of the test
We had the opportunity to test the Arlo Midtown for 2 nights in April 2023. Our stay took place on the 4th floor, in room 418, equipped with 2 queen-size beds. However, we noticed that the room was small enough to comfortably accommodate four people. The nightly rate was €367.

Arlo Midtown review
The Arlo Midtown has a young and trendy atmosphere, particularly popular with night owls. The bar, with its atmospheric music, is ideal for starting or ending an evening. However, despite its newness, the hotel is showing some signs of wear and tear in the public areas, particularly the repeated passing of suitcases, which has left its mark. Cleanliness was satisfactory.
We found the bedding comfortable, although the space available in the room was limited. The staff were courteous. Finally, the hotel’s location is one of its great strengths, being close to many attractions such as Times Square and Grand Central Terminal.
Benefits
- Young and trendy atmosphere.
- Music bar for a drink.
- Excellent location on 38th Street, close to many major attractions.
Disadvantages
- Small rooms, especially when four people are staying together.
- Signs of disrepair apparent despite the newness of the establishment.
- Slight noise pollution between the air conditioning and the street ambience.
In our experience, the Arlo Midtown is a wise choice for those wishing to immerse themselves in the heart of New York’s effervescence. Its excellent value for money enhances the experience, even if a few adjustments could make the stay even better.
