The line 7

There are many ways to visit a city or a district and the one we are going to talk about is a very original and not very tiring way for those who already have sore legs 😉

Did you know that Queens is the most international borough in New York City? It’s big but it’s crossed by a train line: the 7 line.

So riding the 7 line, the purple underground line that cuts through Long Island City, Sunnyside, Woodside, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Corona and Flushing meadows, can be like a trip around the world.

In fact, in 1999, the line was named one of the 16 “National Millennium Trails” that are part of America’s heritage, due to the ethnic diversity of the neighbourhoods it passes through.

Strolling along the 7 line is certainly a memorable New York experience for anyone interested in global cultures.

What to do when you get off at each station? Well, eating is an outstanding option.

For advice, browse our selection of ethnic restaurants; located all along the line, they offer dishes as varied as they are delicious.

For convenience, Flushing Meadows Corona Park is adjacent to Mets-Willets Point, the second-to-last station on the 7. Just off the 7 is MoMA PS1, Long Island City’s innovative museum of contemporary art.
