The Bryant Park Summer Film Festival
Here’s an original evening out during your summer holiday in NYC. The Bryant Park Summer Film Festival offers an open-air cinema where films are shown on the big screen every Monday night of the month.
The screenings start at 5pm, so you might as well have a little picnic until the films start playing at sunset, around 8:30pm.
Shakespeare in the Park
Delacorte Theater, located in Central Park, offers free Shakespearean plays performed by very talented artists. Tickets are available at the box office and online. The theatre is open throughout August and into early September, Tuesday through Sunday from 8pm.
Met Opera In The Park
The Met Opera In The Park is another not-to-be-missed event where opera lovers gather at free concerts in parks in every borough of New York.
Path of Liberty
Don’t miss the powerful installation “Path of Liberty: That Which Unites US” — final month to visit!

In August 2025, if you want to attend a Major League Soccer match, you will have to come at the end of August, as New York City FC is not playing any home matches. The New York Red Bulls will play a match on 31 August at the Red Bull Arena against the Philadelphia Union.
