The Lion King is a resounding success and immensely popular. This production takes place on the legendary stage of Broadway’s Minskoff Theatre.

Did you know?

The show is accessible to all, even those who don’t understand English very well.

The musical made its debut in Minneapolis in July 1997 and was an instant hit with audiences. Since October 1997, it has been rocking Broadway in New York, attracting travellers from all over the world.

Highlights

Triumphant at the Tony Awards, this musical follows the adventures of Simba, the young lion cub heir to the throne of the African savannah, son of King Mufasa. But his jealous uncle Scar secretly covets power. Using machinations, he causes Mufasa’s death, forcing Simba into exile, haunted by guilt.

Set against a sumptuous backdrop, the costumes and life-size animal puppets create a breathtaking spectacle. Audiences are transported to the rousing rhythms of cult songs from the film, such as “Circle of Life”, “Hakuna Matata” and Elton John’s “Can You Feel The Love Tonight”.

What are the best seats for enjoying the show to the full?

The seats at the Minskoff Theatre are perfectly designed to give the audience a clear view of the stage.

However, we do not recommend Orchestra Right or Orchestra Left seats. They do not offer a full view of what is happening on stage.

Mezzanine seating is a wise choice for those looking for better value for money. They are less expensive than those in the Orchestra Center zone and offer a decent view, even if you are sitting higher up and further away from the stage.

If your budget allows, opt for Orchestra Center seats, which offer the best view of the stage.
